Question Which Car Do I Buy? Elite Or Sri

    Hi everyone
As yet I dont own a vectra c but I am looking to purchase one in the next couple of weeks, I am going for the 3.0 V6 CDTI Hatch approx 6-12 months old, but not sure which type yet either Elite or Sri, any help or advice would be much appreciated. Many Thanks.

    As above mate.

duncan did sum this up for me the other day. He said - 'it's easier to add SRi parts (like springs and bumpers) to an Elite than it is to add Leather Seats, Sat Nav, etc to an SRi

Hi thanks for the quick reply, have looked at a few cars this last week and have test driven the Signum 3.0 CDTI Auto, very impressed with power and torque, local dealer has 05 SRI with full leather and lots of other bits (ex demo car) 3k miles £15500 or 05 Elite 7k miles £13300 with room for negotiation I think.

Ive had both so can offer some comparison. The Sri is a great car. Its seats are very supportive, the ride is very comfortable and it handles very well for such a large car. Its also quite well specced too although later car have suffered at the hands of vauxhalls accountants.

The Elite is also a great car but while sat in your comfortable, heated leather seats and once you have got bored of the climate control, you cant help wishing you had the sri bodykit instead of looking like every other vectra on the road. The suspension is also questionable at high speeds and is one of very few cars ive actually been nervous in on high speed driving. The elite does come with a lot of kit that has now been dropped from the rest of range like dimming mirror, rear interior light, auto wipers etc. All small things but extra cost options on other models now.

Ive since got my elite on sri springs and its a different car. Much much better.

If you dont drive fast a lot, get the elite. Its a lot of car for the money and can always be 'sri'd' later like i have done. If you drive fast, and dont mind not having leather, go for the sri. If you can find an sri with leather, your life will be complete

Or you could go for an SRi with heated leather, colour satnav, electric sunroof and 19" alloys!! Don't know where you'd find one of them though......oh! There's one on my drive.
