You say you are getting fuel out the injectors when you crack them off as the engine is being turned over, but at what rate? If its just seepage, then there is a problem, but if it is shooting out under immense pressure like you've severed its jugular then that's good. Is it a common rail or FIP engine? Very difficult to diagnose faults like this so need as much information as possible to even point you in the right direction, let alone get it right. . Have you looked at the timing belt (assuming it's belt and not chain) to see if it has failed and jumped a few teeth, therefore knocking the valve and injection timing out (if thats the case, it may have caused internal damage too). All sorts to think about mate. Get back to us with a detailed symptoms report and we'll take it from there. HTH

thanks the diesel is really shooting out the injectors you can keep turning it over and it wont start unless you crack 1 of the injector pipes then doit backup it will start but only for a few secsthen you have to do it all again it is a timing belt not chain.would i be right in thinking the pump must be ok or it wouldnt be injecting diesel.

Yea the pump and the pumping elements sound ok then. When you are turning it over are you getting unburnt fuel being atomised out of the exhaust (will appear white and you can also smell it). This does sound to me like a slipped timing belt with the information you have given. You really need to get the timing case covers off and have a look at the condition of the belt. Any nasty mechanical noises ?
