strange problem, help please

Hi guys

Thank god i've found this great forum to maybe help me out if possible?

Got this strange problem at the moment with my vectra.

When i put the key in and turn it to ignition the mechanical symbal comes on, i can start the car no problem (when it's running on cold maybe there is a little splutter for a couple of minutes but when and after about 2 minutes of running the light goes off and engine seems to run perfectly fine. If i restart the car when it's been running then the light doesnt come back on. Only when the engine is cold does it happen.

I took it to vauxhall and they said it required the glow plugs and glow plug relay changing which was going to cost £300.

Now i know the parts only cost about £60 so i'm thinking about doing it myself.

Does it sound like its a problem with the plugs and relay? at the moment i'm thinking that it may not actually be a problem with either because the car starts no problem at all?

and if you think it is, where can i find the relay?

deffo sounds like the glow plugs mate. shouldnt be too hard to change

Stranger still, ive had the engine managment show since monday but today my partner has been in the car at isnt hasnt come on.

Ive read that after 25 starts it will disappear if the fault isnt there anymore, which could be in the realms of whats happened

Not sure whether i should take it into the garage at all now, might wait and see if the light comes back at any time

surely vauxhall would have picked something like that up though from there read test?

ive heard that faults will go off after 30 miles, happened with me, the fault light came on i fought the worst came on hear for some ideas, good help, but the light went off on its own??????? defo worth doing it your self, just when it comes to the computer side you gotta take it to the garage. if the light aint there and everything is normal dont worry keep on driving :-)
