Default Car back to standard - and that's how it'll stay.

First major problem with my car last week - engine stalled while stopped in a queue on the motorway. Dangerous situation. Was hard to get it restarted, and needed plenty of revs to keep it from stalling again when it did get running. Car was running perfect again next day
Anyway, had the codes read at dealers (spanner light was coming on for 5 seconds at start up to say a fault was logged) and all that Vx ended up doing was updating the ECU to the latest version - at a cost of 70 odd quid because I'm literally one week out of warranty
Lost all confidence in the car now, I hope it's not going to stall again but we'll see. First thing to go is the tuning box of course, perhaps nothing to do with it but I can't keep updating ECU software all the time.

Haven't touched my engine and not going to. IMHO they are too complicated to play about with and I don't have the money to spend on repairing them.

Totally agree. I regret messing with it. Was fun while it lasted, but safety and reliability are much more important to me than bhp thrills.
First impressions of the latest Vx map on the car are very good so far. It's driving better than ever.

As for the cost just out of warranty, I wasn't very happy about it but the dealer told me Vauxhall won't be paying for it this time. Dealer said that if it happens again then most likely Vx will contribute to put it right.

Somehow I don't think I've heard the end of this but time will tell.
