Question Clamping brake pipes during pad change

Assistance required please. Is it necessary to clamp the brake pipe and open the bleed nut when changing the pads on rear and front. I thought it was a case of slowly winding back the piston, changing the pads, bit of copper grease, bish - bosh, jobs a good un. But I've read somewhere that if you dont clamp the pipe, you could damage the ABS. Help

You can do it that way, equally you can do it the other way you said. If you do, just loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap and slowly winding in the piston with the right tool. Some people do it the first way to minimise the risk of flipping the seals, but it's less of a risk of that happening on these brakes as they are double seals.
