Default High pitched whine from wheels

    Hi all,

Seems i'm getting all my problems in one go!! Coming home from work last night i started getting a whine from the front of the car. Stops when i put on brakes.

Noticed that work had put a lot of grit down in car park due to cold weather. Could some have got caught up in disc/brakes?

Getting discs/brakes and springs replaced on Monday anyway but wanted to make sure that nothing else could be causing it.

    Thanks for any ideas.

Could be your wheel bearing mate, if not how much tread you got on the front wheels? It could be that your running them low which would cause excess road noise. just a thought.

    Thanks,

Tyre Tread is fine. Would noise from wheel bearing stop when i touch the brakes on though? Doesn't seem to be any looseness of wheel. Hope its not bearing, heard thats pretty costly...

You could have a stone trapped. Is it worse or better when you go round left or right hand corners?

If it goes when you brake I would not have thought a wheel bearing, they are normally a sort of rumble too.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!
