    Default anyone took the cat off a dti?

    just wondering if anyone has taken the cat and back box off and if it made a lot of difference sound wise

    I think it may be a bit difficult to remove the cat on a 2.0DTi as the cat is integrated into the front pipe (after the flexi pipe).

    Don’t think anyone has done it yet, as far as I know, I am on the lookout for another pipe so I can experiment in safety, lol.

    i decatted my vectra B 2.0 DTi as that had the cat just after the flexi. sounded about the same with the standard center and back box, then it changed.... i got a remus center and irmy BB and it sounded nice and deep and you could here the turbo wistling away....

    Yep, the cat is still lying in the yard too. No difference in noise, but went from 98hp & 169lb/ft to 103hp & 206lb/ft. That was on my 2003 Astra 2.0DTi.

    did you just take the cat off or back box aswell?

    I was having a stainless system fitted, basically a clone of the standard system only in stainless.
