Default PC Advice Req ....Help !!!

As most of you know I work offshore, 2on , 2off, just back yesterday to discover my back to back has got our PC infected .. Before I go and ask the techs for assistance thought I would give you guys a go as you knows your stuff ..

    Problem ..

He has installed 2 programs, Advancedsecurity, and goldenspy , These keep giviong me popups, some of which should not be on a works pc !! I have tried to un-install the programs and they came out of the program files but I am still getting the popups. I tried to install Adaware but the program is stopping it from installing, says it isn`t a win32 prog, win32 being the trojan I think ?? getting a psw x-vir detected as well, and an asp0 i5 warning, and it keeps taking me to various pages to buy programs to remove it .. I do not have his log in detaills or admin rights ..

Can I get rid of it myself do you reckon, if so how ??

I won't have Norton anywhere near my PC's. Too many things get through it

Have you tried Trojan cleaners??? Spyware Doctor is the best out there http://www.pctools.com/spyware-docto...FSRbEgodVRuKGw

There is s free trojan scanner here but not tried it. http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

...mmm......some of the so called "cleaners" do more harm than good.

Give Spyware Doc a go and see what it throws up

    Please download http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip (by S!Ri)

Extract (unzip) the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

If you are running Windows XP with SP2 you can set the pop up blocker to at least stop the annoying pop ups. To turn blocker on go to Control Panel/Internet Options/Privacy tab and tick box to enable the blocker.

some 'so called' anti-spywear pkgs are actually trojans themselves.

I'd ditch golden spy asap, never heard of advanced security.
