Default Purchasing HIDs Tonight, Advice Wanted Please.

I got in my Vec after work last night, switched on the headlights, both beams looking good on the wall, then the n/s dip beam bulb goes out!

Thats the 2nd one in 3 months! I have the Halfords Ultra Blue ones (which look good from outside, but useless from a drivers point of view!)

So, I've decided I'm getting some HIDs, rather than spend £18 odd on a bulb that doesnt light up the road that well!

Just require recomendations on where to purchase, and what the best kit is. Am I right in thinking 6000ks is the best brightness?

I will be purchasing online as soon as I get back from the cinema tonight.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

If this is the case...should Every headlight require these, regardless of how the light is created?

No, because of the way HIDs work, dirt on the glass can distort the light enough to dazzle other road users, and they're so bright it could be dangerous. That's why.

Why not buy a better quality (ie not Halfrauds own) bulb for your lights? Philips make loads of different models, and as far as I know nobody has had any problems....

Any other reports on the kit mark1319 posted? I am fitting headlight washers, its the just auto level? Wouldnt this be a replacement motor for the adjusters (just guess as havent had a proper look in the headlamp unit)

People can shoot me down for this if they like, but I'd rather have something on my car that is illegal and helps night driving than have another day with the crap headlights that I feel are dangerous. Uprated bulbs are useless IMO as they don't improve it enough, I've adjusted the lights and they're still ****. There illegal, but you'll be lucky to get caught with them as long as they don't dazzle people when your driving you'll be alright.

These are on my list of things to do.

No, for self-levelling headlamps you need complete replacement headlamp assemblies, along with a controller that connects to the high speed CAN bus and some suspension level sensors.
