Reading some posts about "rattles and squeaks"....

I have what sounds like a belt/tensioner squeak to me from a cold start - sounds bottom o/s to me. Only present for a few mins when cold....

I am scared now as reading this could be the water pump ....

Car warmed up yesterday - was stuck in traffic for 10mins (stationary) and temp lifted to 93 deg - usually around the 83/84 mark....

I have had many diesel's in my ownership life - which have never raised temp in traffic - in all fairness - did not hear a fan so 93 may be operating temp and the fact I spend most my time on the motorway or A roads temp never gets above 85 - What temp would you class as normal on Cdti (150)....?

Does the squeak when cold sound like the water pump on a 150 Cdti - where is the water pump?

Car is a 05 150 Elite - 63K

When purchased I was given a 1/2 and 1/2 warrenty (3mth) by the seller - Should I tell them I want the pump changing and front half the cost?

None Vx though?

What temp do your Cdti's run at and do you see a raise in temp during stand still traffic? Fan's kick in at?

TBH mine seems to drop in temp in traffic, only really gets up to temp on the motorways when its having a hard time
Anything up to mid way on the gauge is average for mine.

same here.. as soon as it pops over half way, the fan kicks in and its back down within a min...

Mine never gets much over 85...highest i've ever seen it was 92/93 just after I had my remap and i'd absolutely hooned it for about 10 mins with no let up....
