provided you have got the paperwork to say that you have the policy then i don't see why not.

surely, if they don't receive the funds then it is up to them to inform you that the policy is cancelled

I would say the cover applies until the Credit Card realise they have not yet processed the payment
If the payment does not process then the insurance company should write to you advising that payment is required within 14 days, otherwise cover will cease

If the payment is not made within 60 days of the online transaction the merchant may NOT reprocess and MUST contact you
I had relative where this happened recently...
Paid for a mobile phone online, printed out the payment confirmed and receipt, for £135
After 90 days the transaction did not appear on their statement
The mobile phone company eventually wrote to them 5 months later, advising the payment had been overlooked
Due to the transaction taking place outwith the 60 day limit they required written authorisation to reattempt the transaction or an alternative credit card
After a further 28 days the mobile phone company wrote back to say the matter was closed!

Don't worry, you have made payment, the insurance company have failed to "take" it yet. Sometimes you get companies that seem to take AGES to process cc transactions. If they don't write and tell you it aint all as it should be, then don't worry.
I know that I would be happy with a free years insurance.

Plus, if you were told you did not have insurance from said provider, you have proof that they accepted payment terms and issued the policy. The worst that would happen is that (within the times stated above) they would ask you to repay.
