    Unhappy advice needed guys

Some of you will recall I put the motor into the stealers today for another (2nd in 15 months) swirl valve. I asked if this was a problem with the veccies and the expected answer was " no not really". Knowing that my warranty is up this November, I asked if this part and the workman ship was qaurenteed for 12 months. The reply was only until your warranty runs out in November.

I thought the parts when fitted had a 12 months warranty? any body assist with this one? much obliged.

As far as I am aware, All parts fitted come with a 12 month warranty unless the cars warranty is more, in which case, that is the length of the parts warranty also.

What they are basically saying is if they fitted a brand new radiator (or whatever) and the cars warranty runs out tomorrow, then the part would also have no guarantee in a weeks time. Utter bull mate. They must be wrong on that one.

They are correct. If you have a new part fitted under warranty then the warranty only covers it until your original warranty runs out.If you pay for the part then the 12 months apply.

Just read about this in a legal magazine so its true.

Yep its right, had the same issue with VW a few years back. If they fit a new part the day before the warranty ends, that part is only covered for the remaining day...
