Default Correct pressures for 3.0 CDTi SRi on 17"s?

I thought I'd better check the tyre pressures on the car today since I hadn't done it for a while and totally forgot what they were meant to be.

So rather than look in the handbook in the glovebox I thought I would just do a "Search" on here and find out, usually this place is the best place to look for things like this.

However, upon doing a search, there were literally loads of different suggestions on what they should be.

So on a 3.0V6 CDTi SRi, 54 plate, on standard SRi 17" inch wheels with Goodyear Eagles, what should I be using pressure wise in 'em?.

Never carry any heavy loads either.

    Cheers.

    Anyone?.

I've just gone out and stuck 33 psi in all round as that seems to be what most folk say having looked through a forum search on the topic.

But then someone posted that the manual said 38 FRONT, 35 REAR for the 3.0V6?. Something to do with the engine over the front wheels being heavier?.

38 seems a tad high to me?.

I run mine at 38-40 front and 34-36 in the rear. The V6 cdti lump is the reason for the extra pressure, and extra load tyres.

Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Yep sounds about right. Although last time I put in a couple of 2 psi more. i.e. 41/37 and it seemed to handle a little better.

    My manual has :
    215/50R17
    225/45R17
    Standard vehicle loading
    Front 38
    Rear 35

When I first had my car there was no manual, the dealership came back with "possibly" 40 as that was the tyre pressures for the 3.2 V6

At last service the dealership changed the tyre pressures, and I asked why
"Well that is what is on the wall"
    "Show me"
They pointed to the Vectra 1.9 CDTI, and I then pointed to the rear of mine "It's not a 1.9"
"Hmmm, the 3.0 V6 CDTI isn't up there" and that's the listing from Good Year!
