1.6mm minimum across the whole width of the tyre. Personally I'd never run a tyre with less than 3mm on it - http://www.3mmtyres.co.uk/

Cheers Duncan. I think i've about 4mm left on them i'll just replace them then. Getting them removed to do the wheel refurb. Might as well go all new. Better safe than sorry.

isn't it 1.6mm over 3/4 of the width of the tyre i.e. centre section, as the outer and inner edges don't have the tread depth gauges to take reading from.

    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Trim : Black

    Engine : 3.0D V6

    Year : 0000

    Default

1.6 over 3/4 the tyre width over the whole circumference, BUT visible tread on the rest.

Changing at 4mm is only half way through the tyres life, and seem excessive IMO.

Hey Shan when the refurb has been done get them to put the tyres on if possible.......if not then be VERY VERY carefull when choosing who to get to fit the tyres cause.....and we've been here before......many many probably most tyre fitters WILL damage your wheels.

Some on here will know a lad on detailing world who got brand new BBS wheels and could only find one place who was prepared to fit them and guarantee no damage.......it's easy really any damage caused is just them being lazy and not bothering to adjust their machine so there isn't any contact.

So there you have it you have been warned

    Bryan
