Elite suspension

This is following on from a comment made by ukanalyst here (post 27):

If the Facelift Elite is specified from the factory with 18" alloys (as mine was) then you do actually get SRI suspension but again it isn't standard ... the 18" alloys are a factory option just like the xenons, electric folding mirrors, etc etc....

Ever since I bought my Elite, I've sometimes looked and wondered if it is actually sitting quite low. It has the VX 11-spoke rims, which I assume were factory fitted.


How do I know for sure if they were a factory fit. And how can I be sure that the ride height and/or the suspension setup is/isn't standard?

11 spoke 18" rims are what's on mine from the factory ... the ride is lot firmer and more controlled than standard Elite suspension ... I'll see what pics I can dig out for you to compare against.

i thought the Elite had standard suspension and wheels, the Design model had the sports suspension and wheels, definately in the Signum range

Not sure you will ever know for sure. Maybe a call to the supplying dealer? Not too sure. If it has the 18" 11 spokes, then I would imagine they were factory fitted, so it would have the sri springs from the factory.

Yes it does, BUT, the thread Raze is referring to was by Ukanalyst who has 18" wheels as standard from the factory. With this spec it comes with lowered SRi suspension.

ukanalyst, the piccy of the new Elite looks just the same as mine. I'll see if I can take take a pic and compare to the one you posted.

EDIT: Just seen the extra pictures. It's amazing how the shots from different angles make the ride height look different.

It was an 11 month old company car when I bought it, so I'm fairly confident they are a factory-fit. It looks like there is a good chance that it has the uprated suspension then.

Unless rep cars have that feature deleted!
