    Question Suspension Clunk Solution/s Recap

Well I`ve the infamous clunk off the front left of my car.Intermitant, somedays over every bump, hump, minor dip in the road straight or turning.Other times quite as a mouse.
So after the research on here I have some questions.

54 plate 2004 Sri Estate CDTi owned since july 2005 - being 9 months oldish when purchased.

I came to the conclusion that the clunk is one of the following.Nothing major all minor, but Vauxhalls cheapness coming to the fore on quality of parts.

-replace drop links 1 per side
-replace antirollbar mounting bushes 2 of
-replace antirollbar links (is this correct or is it known as something else)

The other possibility is a broken spring - which there is no current evidence of - considering it ain`t the best on accessability. But should be obvious.
The `spring mod` which after having a feel round would appear to have been done before I owned it.(I can feel like a lip of some sort around the bottom of the spring in the pan.)
Other option is possibly a spring fault or shock fault or some other suspension fault.(Has been into an independant garage and there is nothing glaringly obvious.)

So can any one confirm my research?

Also will I do any damgae to my suspension if I leave it a week or 2 or 3,or does it need doing yesterday?

    Many thanks

Drops links are the antirollbar links... When your turning a corner under force it pulls the link up i believe which then influences the antiroll bar... thats about as technical as i get lol.

Noise could also be radiator mounts.

A broken spring u would definitely know about..

That noise providing its one of the above wont do any damage to the suspension its just annoying. All my clunks went away when i changed to any Irmscher suspension setup

So therefore, there are 2 common failures not 3 as I mentioned.

Drop links/antiroll bar links - being one and the same

    Antiroll bar mounting bush/rubbers

+ possibly the rad mounts as you mentioned.

I knew mine was gone (car hadn't dropped though), pity it took the VX garage 4 attempts at least to notice it. They even said there was nothing wrong on the Monday then failed its MOT on a "broken spring" on the Tuesday!!!

Mine clunks on the nearside mainly, every now and then but have noticed it more lately.

It's supposed to have the spring mod done when it was under warranty after three attempts. How do you know the mod's been done, what do you look for ?

Thanks Mark, i'll check on Sat AM when I wash it. I have a feeling it hasn't been done and it's been twanging away again today even though it was meant have the mod done a couple of years ago
