    Default Wheel Bearing Noise ?

Hi I’ve got a 2004 Vectra GSi running 225/45/R15 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD 3 I had the Rears fitted last August and the Fronts Fitted a couple of weeks ago:- The problem is I have a bad droning noise had this before I had the rear tyres fitted. The noise is from about 35 - 45 MPH it seems worse on new stretches of road I have swapped the tyres from the back to the front and this seems to have made matters worse. The old tyres wore fairly evenly and I have inflated the tyres to 38 psi all round. I have been back to the tyre fitters and they say the tyres are ok.

I had a Vectra B GSi and always used the above Tyres and never had any problems .

I have the same problem on a 2004 sxi. Just been to vauxhall for a service and they say nothing is wrong but there is uneven (flat spots) wear on the rear tyres.
All they said was that suspension ok and take it to have it 4 wheel tracked.Tyres on car are Avon zz3.

Same problem here with Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 (225/45 17). I e-mailed Goodyear and got a response advising me to take the car back to the dealer and get them to swap the front and rear wheels to see if the noise moves. The dealer is also doing their own road test and inspection. Great tyres, but the rumbling noise is just annoying. Seems to be mostly from the back and most noticable with a full load.

Also, anyone any estimates what mileage to expect from F1's on the front?

    Cheers,

    Phil

I had this problem on an Omega once, it turned out to be the brake disc retaining nut was not tight, thus sticking out slightly. This caused the wheel not to mount flat to the hub, causing a droning sound.

Will have that checked out, I was assuming this was the tyres with numerous other people mentioning the same issue with the same tyres.

    Default drone

...swap the rear tyres over - i.e the right tyre to the left and vice versa. F1's are directional so this will involve removing and remounting the tyre but trust me, it's worth doing !!!

    I bet it the tyres,

Had the same problem onmy old veccy when I got it, it had NCT-5 fitted, took it in to the dealers 3 times moaning about the wheel bearings, turned out to be the tyres, I changed them and the noise went,

What he said. I took mine to a garage to get the wheel bearings at the rear checked... twice. Only to be advised to get new tyres. Changed the tyres, noise disappeared

well i can hear a droning noise with the back end jacked up and wheel off, just spinning it really fast with a bolt in and the wheel brace on it gives a droning sound, plus i had the noise before i had the Eagle F1's, so im hoping mine is bearing.
