Boot wont open !!

I replaced the chrome strip on the back of the car hatchback today (as I accidentally scratched the original one removing the VXR badge).

When I undid the four bolts, one of the center bolts fell inside the hatch and I was unable to recover it.

Now I cant get the boot open !!!

It makes the sound... but wont release the catch.

..... any ideas how I can get the boot open again ?

Seems like the bolt is jamming the mech, might have to pull the panel off and go in from the inside.

Could be tricky given the boot can't be opened!

I've no idea how you get into a boot, that doesn't have the manual release option on the inside, without inflicting some nasty interior trim damage!

fold the seats down, and crawl in with a torch!!! easy peasy!

possibly press the boot further down then lift sharply while someone holds the release button down, might move the bolt just enough to allow you to get inside

hasn't worked for him...Spoons has rung the vectra-c's technical office and we've tried that.. he's currently stripping the boot trim off to access the lock from behind....
