    Default vectra head units

I have just purchased a 55 vectra 1.9 Design facelift and I was wondering if the head units that come with it has pre outs to connect to an amp to power a sub woofer? Also if i got a different headunit would i lose the controls of the onboard computer if i fitted it?

Hi Smiley it will either be the cd30 or if its the nav model it will be the cd70
there are not outputs for an amp or subwoofer but you can buy a box of tricks if needed

if you put in an aftermarket stereo u wont lose any of the computers functions but you can get adapters so u can still use your steering wheel controls if u go down the aftermarket route!!

    hope that helps mate

If you buy an aftermarket headunit, to keep your steering controls you will also need 2 wiring looms which cost roughly £35 for both. Halfords do one for 5 types of CD player.

I've a 1.9 cdti design & it comes with the CDC40 with DAB radio & 6 disc in dash autochanger, it's the best sounding & most powerful head unit that VX make for the Vec C (unless its got sat nav then its the CDC70 which ain't got the power output but does do MP3's), the computer is controlled through the steering controls & also the headunit, but don't think you'd lose that if you swapped headunits. I believe a subwoofer output can be assigned to this unit but it needs to be "Tech 2'd" via VX.

The thing is 35w aint that much when you get down to it. And I'm not talking blasting it out... I'm talking quality at a good leval.

But it is the most power output & the best audio specced headunit that is STANDARD in the Vec-C, I'm sure any 3rd party headunit over £100 would blow it away but I'm happy to stick with a factory finished look

i disagree, the CD70 in my Vectra Design 06 sounds loads better than a CD40 in a mates one.
