    Eek swirl city

Hi there, quite new to the detailing scene, a few weeks ago brought a cheapish polisher it was a dry day today so gave the car a wash and dry, and began to give her a polish with the polisher,

i thought i'd done a good job but it started getting dark so i brought out the flood light i've got swirls everywhere!!!!

so what products can i use with my polisher to remove these?

also don't know if i'm doing something wrong but i put quite a bit of polish on the sponge head of the polisher started at a slow speed got a bit faster then within about 30-40 seconds the polish is more or less gone and the polisher starts bouncing around the panal is this just cos its a new pad and i have not used enough polish???
or i'm not using enough pressure??

any help would be much appreciated! thanks.

You need to prime the pads first mate with some QD, this stops the polish disappearing into the pad and Keeps things cool.

Yep, megs83 would do the trick, if the polish dissapeared that quick sounds like you had it too fast maybe, are you using a polishing pad, or just the wooly bonnet ?

But is it a cutting pad, polishing pad or a finishing pad? It should say on the pad top.

THB I would buy a set of megs pads and backing plate, then you know where your at. Also try running at a lower speed like 1500 rpm and spritz the pad with qd, this should help stop the hopping. Its a big step going straight onto a rotary without using a pc first (i know ive done just that) but just do your research and work slowly. The weight of the machine should be enough so dont go pressing on or you could burn the paint.
