Default Tuning a "face lift" V6 CDTI??

I have been reading quite a bit on the site about how hard it is to tune the facelift V6 CDTI. But as I now have one I am interested in releasing some more horses and dont like the thought of being told "it cant be done".......

So does anyone have first hand knowledge of what can be done, and what companies come with the best reccomendations..

    Thanks in advance

remaps are avaliable for prefacelift cars from 'torquingBHP' soon to be approved traders on here..i don't know if they can do post facelift cars thou as the fueling systems aren't as robust...

same goes for tuning boxes..facelift cars have had serious damage done to them or at least suffered so odd problems with the fuelling system when they have been boxed...too many reports of damage to reccomend either route in a facelifted ( euro4) car..

I've found these boxes and they say they do the 184PS engine as well so it would be interesting to see if they do work.

Go on then . Let me know . Yours is still under warranty? That'll take care of the fuel pump . I'm not going to risk another. Vx may get suspicious

It can be done.........but there are problems. Myself and another member have tinkered with tuning the facelift Euro4 3.0 V6 and both have resulted in needing new fuel pumps. Coincidence? Maybe? But it aint worth the risk when a bill for the 3.0 V6 fuel pump with parts and labour at Vx is around £3K . Fine if your under warranty (like we were) but if your not..................... Not worth the risk, leave well alone.

Also (and I don't wish to keep banging on about this) you're already at the limit of your gearbox's torque rating (295 lbs/ft 400Nm),so other things like clutches, driveshafts etc are also going to be marginal.Think carefully before you decide to add more power.

    OOPPSSSS...........is it?
When I had the Spider box on mine it was RR'd at 500Nm or 368 lbs ft . Good job it wernt for long

TBH, I cant see Vx installing a gearbox that is only just on the limit of the torque of the engine. Facelifts are supposed to be 295 lbs ft as standard.
