    Default Mazda Warranty

As you know the Vec's pulley snapped the other day and i now have a tiny Micra. The parts aren't available to repair the car and it looks like it may be well into March before i get the car back.

The warranty company are paying for the parts, labour and courtesy car but will only pay for it for a max of 10 days. As i've only had the Vec for 8 weeks is there a chance they may change their minds and give me something bigger until the car is fixed?

They aren't open again till Monday and i'm going to phone then but what should i say??

I wouldn't give them the option tbh if they can't get the parts for that long.
Tell them if they won't supply you anything bigger a hire company will at their expense!

They are hiring the car through Enterprise which won't give me anything bigger anyway, due to my age.

I can't prove it but the car was in Taggarts on Tuesday getting a couple of things sorted and when i dropped it off it had 1/4 tank of diesel and it was nearly empty when i picked it up.........

I'm not the type to threaten anyone but i'm not a happy chappy!!

^^^^ just what ben said..if they can't get your parts within ten days, then tough..sale of goods act means they ( the garage that sold the car to you) have to give you 3 months 'warranty' on the car automatically..to say that they'll take the hirecar back when it's their fault they can't get parts is just not on..

Think i've got good enough grounds for a complaint? Taggarts don't seem to bothered tbh

Taggarts ( the supplying dealer) have a legal responsability that continues after the car is sold ( it needs to be of saleable quality for 3 months from purchase or a fault is deemed to have been present at time of sale).. So i'd simply tell them that if they remove the hire car, then you'll need something off their forecourt until they deem to repair yours..

they can't just walk away....but they may be playing you about because they think that you're too young to know different..

Good sound advise there. They need to supply you with a car, end of.

it's not between you and the hire company Tam, you need to take it right up with Taggarts.. They'll need to authorise the bigger car ( it will cost them more so don't hold out) and they'll need to make sure you can keep mobile no matter how long the bits take to arrive..

The repairs are being carried out by Taggarts but authorised through Mazda Warranty services. The terms on the warranty say they will pay a maximum of £30 per day for a replacement car for a maximum of 10 days.
