Default 2007 Vectra 2.2 Auto - Rear Fog Light

I was amazed to find that me Vectra Elite only shows one rear fog light even though the n/s light has wiring and a bulb. Is there anyway of getting the n/s light to work?.

Also can anyone tell me if my car should have a drivers seat belt warning, either a light or a sound, if you don't put the seat belt on with the engine running?

    More questions to follow.

    Thanks,

    Gordon.

I guess it should have a belt warning mate...both sign on the dials and sound...at least preface has them.
BTW...all vecs have only one side working fog in orther for the guys in the back to tell the difference between fog light and brake light....hope that makes sense LOL

Only one fog light required, as per EU (or somethingorother) ruling. The bulb on the nearside can be used as a spare bulb anywhere in the rear light clusters as they're all 21 watt bulbs. Some people have bridged a wire across from one fog light to the other, but as you've got bulb failure warning on the Elite, you'll get false error messages all the time. Just stick to the one fog light if I were you. It's not as if you need them every day of the week and unless you get some real pea soupers where you live, then you're not going to need the two of them.

Seat belt warning is an optional extra, and not standard fitment. Never yet seen a Vectra with the warning fitted. Should be pretty obvious if you've got the belt on or not though to be honest.

^^^ what he said - particularly the bit about the seat belt warning. Anyone stupid enough to drive without one will be more than happy to ignore any warning device that's fitted. You don't 'forget' to wear your setatbelt....

... I don't think so: you can ignore the flashing red light in the dash but the noise is unbearable ! I think this is a good thing; over here both warnings are standard for the front seats (and it is 2 points in te EuroNCAP ratings)

Occasionally I have to drive an Astra or Focus. Both have the seat belt warnings. Trouble is the journey I do is stop / start around a perimeter fence. Not practical to keep putting on and taking off the seat belts every 100 yrds. The audible warning is annoying, so to overcome that I wrap the seatbelts around the rear of the seats and then clip them into place. I know there's a way to shut the Ford warning up, but as it's a pool car, other people will question why it doesn't beep at you anymore if you forget to put on the seatbelts.

Thanks Guys, this is my first post on this forum and it's good to know there are members out there willing to pass on there knowledge to others.

All the above make sense, and yes I always wear my seat belt, it comes as second nature, like closing the door and starting the engine. My point was, if the car had this facility then it should work, and Big Dave is right, the rear fogs are only used now and again, I didn't know that it would double as a n/s brake light if the proper one failed.

My previous Vectra was a T reg CDX, that seemed to have more on it than this new Elite, things like Traction Control, door lights and the display told you about which bulb has failed, low water (both coolant and screen wash) low oil, low brake pad etc etc...anyone know how many of these things my new Vectra will have?

Thanks again guys, sorry to go on so long.

    Regards,

    Gordon.

The seat belt warning was standard on the earlier Vecs but has been removed from the later ones, this is what i've been lead to believe anyway.
