And now in Aberdeen as well, know there stuff, John knowing vx inside out. Do you know who has the aberdeen franchise, as franchising can be dodgy, you get the name but not much else ??

*Edit* Just had a look at the website and it is Belmont .. Wouldn`t trust them with my landmower never mind the car !!!

Yeah was thinking about it as its local but as bainie said its Belmont thats doing it so not so sure?
There is also Wallace performance and Jap tuning in ellon that are close i have spoken to a couple of boys that have had Jap performance do theirs and they were well chuffed with it RR before and after and 197bhp after the map but seems a bit high to me.

I have seen just over 198bhp today on my remap but I have a modified exhaust, intakes, air filter, twin intercoolers... Had the Methanol turned off and the smoke is barly noticable even up against the white wall. You might get 197bhp from their remap but without modification, it would smoke heavily. I've also not seen any remap as yet that are done in the same way as mine, so I would find it unlikely that you would see said figures.

Thorney Motorsport use Superchips as their software supplier, but if you ask Superchips directly, they only offer a 35bhp increase in the 1.9 150. So why TMS state more I don't know, but they claim a damn site more on VXR cars and they never deliver.

I like Superchips alot, they are a good company, but I would not use Thorney Motor Sport to be honest, don't like their attitude.

You would be better going to either Courtenay, VXRPC, Superchips or use the BSR software, I have my BSR on order and their power and torque claims are not over the top. The BSR benefit is that it is reversable on your hand held programmer, Duncan and Big Pete will for sure back BSR.

BSR claim 185bhp and up to 300lb/ft, which I think is realistic.

As Matt (maverick) said the BSR is a good bit of kit, i Can't recommend it enough, certainly makes the 1.9 cdti a lot better, I have a DPF on my estate aswell and its ok with them..

For Superchips try AW Autotech in Aberdeen, great bunch of guys ... Don`t go near Wallace, he is a cowboy, has fryed a lot of ecu`s and blown a few engines !!!

Matt , Thorney probably claim more as they change the map which superchips/thorney wrote, you can also get more from superchips if you ask them for a custom map, but they will not offer the warranty on your engine which they do with there normal maps, standard maps are slightly down on power as they warranty them so obviously don`t push it too much .. I have not had problem with Thorneys attitude, nor superchips in the past ..

It's not a personal attitude as such I don't like, it is just a case of what ever they do, every other tuner is wrong, and TMS have been in the Vauxhall tuning world for 5 minutes compared to many others.

The guys that run Regal and Courtenay are not buddy's but you never hear them slagging each other off, even Stuart Harris had to tell Thorney to retract certian comments in the past due to statements made on other forums.
