    Default Torgue settings needed

    guys i need the torque settings for the bolts at the top of the shock towers. can anyone help. also if i take them out for a min with the car flat on the ground and dont move it will it be ok and then ok to put them back in?

    you can take them out, no problem..the strut self centres due to a cone in the strut towers hole, and a matching one on the struts top plate..

    if you're taking out the bolts to fit a strut brace, just make sure they are long enough to locate the strut top still, after passing through the brace..

    I was talking with Nigel at 888 Race Engineering today about this very same subject.

    He reckons the Torx bolts are something like M8 thread, and can be replaced with another bolt just a bit longer to allow for the thickness of the strut brace.

    they are indeed M8....and yes, just change them for a longer hexagaon headed bolt..

    How far you've got to then rotate the spanner / socket wrench after you've torque'd up the bolt.
