    Default Tyre pressures - 3.2GSi

The owners manual states 40psi front and rear but to me the car doesn't feel right - twitchy and very sensitive in a straight line to steering inputs, almost as if they're over inflated.

All tyres have about 5mm tread, NCT-5 on rear, Michelin Primacy on front, all 215/50/17. All wheels have been checked for balance and tracking is spot on.

I've never had a car that needs 40psi. What pressures do other GSi owners run with 215/50/17 tyres?

40 psi iirc is due to the weight of the car/engine. I know I got used to it with my old DTi. Once used to it it did feel better than underinflated.

Remember underinflated tyres cost more in fuel, not that any 3.2 V6 owners really care about mpg? lol

...and can also cause the sidewalls to crack due to more load/flexing on them.

strange you say that, the amount of cars I have seen in car parks with "slick" side walls due to this is amazing, blow outs waiting to happen
