urgent help required

I have just looked at replacing my sidelights and disconnected the bulb once I have replaced both the indicator lights light up and I have changed the polatity around upon the bulb still no difference. The car front indicators will not stop lighting up, the sidelights do not work???
I have disconnected the battery to see if that would sort it out no prevail.

not dislodged the earth lead on the bulbholders have you?..it is tight in there..

either that or the main wiring harness hasn't come slightly adrift..it does sound like a bad earth problem to me..

If i stick a resistor on them it goes off, but a can hear a faint tick, tick, tick, tick noise all the time coming from somewhere behind the air vents towards the drivers side.

have you left different bulbs in ( what bulbs) or have you left the standard ones in?..

Both the sidelight bulbs worked before I took them out they were slightly discoloured but still worked, If I put an led light in they light up and the indicator goes out, tried a spare set of sidelights and they don't work either only leds now????

problem solved, whats the chances of having two sets of 5w sidelight bulbs faulty, robbed some out of the passat and they light up and the light goes out

unusual but not unknown...bulbs are made for tenths of pence, so they are bound to have some duff one's.. just your luck..
