Pulling to the left Vx say this is normal?

Hi all, had the car just under two months and fed up with holding the stearing to the right - just to go in a staight line. Took it in to local tyre specialist and had tracking done, slightly better but still not right - now steering wheel points to the left and affects my indicators.

Booked car in today with dealers, they want £70 to do the tracking apparently the car has to be weighted in front - both sides, and rear, they tell me not to spend the money as all of their cars pull to the left slightly. Find this hard to believe can it be true??

As an alternative does anyone know of any national fast fit outfit that can do the tracking for a reasonable price.

Any help would be appreciated.

I put a new set of tyres on my '03 1.8club, so I had my 4 wheel allignment done (£47.71 at my local dealer). I recently had new springs on the front, so it needed done. Otherwise, suspension is ok, as dealer didn't try to fleece more cash from me, which I'm sure they would have, given the chance!
They said tracking was well out.
Since, I have noticed since that my car is alot more composed in the bends. In a straight line it is the same, a very slight drift to the left, which I always though would be normal due to the camber of roads.
Just done over 1200 miles in a week during holidays, so I think I gave it a good enough road test!
Therfore, I think it was worth it, just for being better in bends. Only time will tell how the tyres wear, but I am hopeful they will last longer than the 10k I got from the last set.

Crown camber in the UK results in the car pointing :
to the nearside, when in lane 1
to the offside, when in lane 2 (where there are two lanes)
What you need to find is a suitable road to test this

Luckily I have found a road that has nil camber
I drive in the middle of the road, with my hands at but not on the steering wheel
The car should then drive perfectly straight
I then repeat for the same distance, and then lightly apply the brakes, again the car should pull up perfectly straight
I then turn the car and repeat both tests in the opposite direction
Only when am I happy I agree that the alignment is perfect

My old corsa (V reg) used to have the same problem. Had to hold the steering wheel at 1 o'clock to keep the car in a straight line. Had it serviced at 3 different garages (including the Vx dealer I bought it from) the 3 years I had it, told each one about it, and each garage said they couldn't find a single thing wrong.

Not one of them offered to check tracking, alignment etc....but IMO with the wheel straight the car should NOT drive in a circle. God help the poor sucker that bought it

As m8internet said, a lot of roads have a camber that will make the car gradually move to the left if you were to take your hands off the wheel - however you shouldn't need to, or be consciously aware of, having to hold the wheel to make a constant correction - certainly sounds like the tracking is out. As above, find a place on that website and they will be using Hunter equipment - absolutely top notch stuff and that'll get you all aligned nicely.

My vec was pulling to the right when i test drove it so told vx i would take it if they sorted it out fair enough they said,so picks it up and they said they couldnt find any thing wrong with it so away i went and shock it was still pulling to the right!Me being me didnt bother going back with it i just kinda got used to it an didnt really notice it after a while then this week i noticed that my drivers tyre was slick on the inside so of to kwick fit for two NCTs on the front and the tracking looked at.The tracking on the drivers side was out by 7mm they adjusted it for 24 pounds and i tell you what a difference i didnt realise just how bad it was before the car is a total pleasure to drive now 100% better
