Default How Low and Which Springs??

So, please bear with me i'm new to Veccys and modding in general.

Done a few simple things so far, Alloys, Sunglasses Holder, Door Pins.

I want to lower and stiffen the suspension, it's a bit like driving a four by four at the miunte will a fair bit of roll in the corners.

I was looking at SRI Springs for ease to change over??

I have a 1.9CTDi Life Estate, facelift on 17" alloys.

Are SRI springs or aftermarket ones the way forward, also

How much can i lower the car without having to avoid speedbumps etc.

Any help as ever would be much appreciated.

Have almost talked the missus into allowing and accompanying me on the next VEC C.Com european trip. Woooooo.

    Default

    Right..

There are 3 main options when lowering in my opinion..

    Eibach Springs - 30mm drop - £145 - Best Handling
Pi Springs - 45mm Drop- £100 Best Compromise between Low'ness and Handling
Coil Over's - 75mm Drop - £500 Lowest out of them all, Handling is pretty good too.

It all depends on your budget and how low you want to go.

I have Coilover's on mine, and its pretty ok. There are a handful of speed humps it wont get over, but they are very few and far between, although the boat at Dover going to Irmscher could be interesting to say the least!

    Cool

    Cheers,

I think the 40mm option would be the one, The alloys i got vastly improved the look of the car but the gap between the wheel and wheel arch just looks huge, it has to go!!

Im planning on fitting a caterman box as well but i want to stiffen the ride up a bit and get rid of some of the roll, i liken driving it at the minute to pilotinging a large blamonge.
