Just round a friends house and his son turns up in his company BMW 535d M-Sport Touring auto. Saw I was interested in cars and said do I want a go! Well I couldn't say no!
So we went a quick blast up the lanes near where we live. Quite interesting (or annoying!) to have the speedo in the head-up display stuck in front of you!
Well performance wise........................ a bit of a disappointment. I would describe it as "rapid" but not that "fast", if that makes any sense. Yes it got up to speed quickly, but didnt put you in the back seat whilst doing it, not a lot of pull. It wouldnt make you rush out and buy one just because of its performance. I was actually quite suprised, for a 286bhp engine. It felt more like 210-220bhp. I was expecting it to go like a rocket. Still a very nice car though.
Being an M-Sport it handled well, but not like a go-cart, its a BIG car. You wouldnt buy it to chuck it around the corners. You can feel its big and heavy. The ride was suprisingly comfortable, you wouldnt think it was M-Sport suspension.
But would I pay the £44.5K what it was worth as new??!!!
Not on your life!! But a good experience anyway, and made my day!!
To sum it up..... a bit more than , I'm afraid, for me.
He said, he's tried a few and you wouldnt want any less than a 530d.
He said hes going to give me a shout next time he gets a 330d, so I'll give that a go . Luckly he gets these cars as he works in Accounts at our local BMW dealer
