Have you tried putting something like Megs" #21 sealent on before the wax, don,t know how much help it would be, but I do it to my motor, I can not say that the salt has been noticable on mine, but then it is a light colour....... or maybe it does work?.

i use colinite 915 poilsh mate and its excellent at repelling salt and grime, its not particularly cheap at £25 but you do get 3 microfibre cloths with it and its by far the best poilsh ive ever used ,highly recommended for dark coloured cars and i got mine from www.elitecarcare.co.uk mate HTH

I use Megs Ultimate quick detailer this time of year and it helps loads. It also helps in washing it as the muck dosn't stick, even a good downpour of rain washes the car. Oh and by the way, mines black too
