    Default Better pick up

Having tried the old leaf blow in the air intake to simulate a supercharger, I found that the turbo offers a lot of resistance to air flow. This might account for the slow pick up low down and I've been looking at ways to combat this. The best Idea I have come up with is to add two non-return valves (NRV). One would go after the turbo in the normal piping, to prevent the back pressure when changing gear. The second would be connected to the line after the turbo but would feed from atmosphere (via a filter). The second NRV would prevent any possibility of vacuum when the engine starts to pick up with the turbo not boosting.

Here's a sketch of the design I have in mind.

    Give it a go
And with that new box of tricks you've just bought you can see if any mods you now do make any improvement to bhp/torque (saves you keep going to the RR). Ok that box isnt going to be nowhere near as acurate as a RR but it'll at least identify increases/decreases.

I can compare the results from both with different setups and see how accurate it is. It performs slightly different in the real world anyway.

More or less in one piece.

Been looking at these myself, which is why I tried the leaf blower but with the turbo in the way you can get the air down. If this non-return valve works then I could use it to bypass the turbo when it's not spun up and use an electrical fan or a petrol leaf blower to get the boost up straight away. I would have to add a pressure switch to turn the fan off when the pressure reaches a set level so the ecu would still be in control.

Need to build one first and I'm running low on green stuff. I'm hoping Northern Rock will bring me some returns on my shares, so finger crossed.
