As people will know, Mark the Cabby and Ian were initially dealing with the organising of the trip.
As it's going to be a bigger event (more cars, more people going, longer trip) there is a lot more to organise, and not so much time left to do it all in. Cabby has been busy behind the scenes sorting out ferry and hotel details, but we (Admin) thought he could probably do with a helping hand to ease the workload a bit, especially as Duncan won't be involved as much as he was last year, or going on the trip, due to the pitter patter of tiny feet due at the same time as the trip!
So, after a suggestion to him and a subsequent chat, he was happy to have some extra help - therefore we have now formed a committee of people for the organisation of the trip and everything that goes with it. It made sense to have people who had been on last year's trip, and were more then likely to be going on this year's trip, so we now have a committee of five people - Cabby and Ian C (obviously), along with Andrew (AndrewTi), Mark (GSi3.2) and Dean (Plasma).
They will basically discuss and sort out any aspects and details of the trip required - and they can bounce ideas off each other/brainstorm to come up with ideas that will enhance the trip - as well as being able to do different tasks to share the workload, and not leave it to just one or two people. The committee will obviously liaise with Admin if a final decision is needed on something important, but basically they'll be left to just get on with it and do what's needed - just keeping Admin in the loop on progress etc.
So, if people have any questions/ideas etc. about the trip, either raise it in a thread/post in this section, or PM Cabby, or one of the committee, and they can then discuss it between them if needed. The first committee meeting will be next week, which Cabby will shortly be posting up about.
Regular updates/info etc. will be posted up in this section by Cabby or committee members to keep everyone updated.
