    Default Spring Sleeve Mod

    Ive suposedly had the front sleeve mod done by the dealers, but ive looked and cant see anything on the springs, is it obvious that its been done ?

    Anybody got any pics of the sleeves in place ?

    no pics, but you should be able to feel a plastic sleeve has been placed around the lower coil of the spring, where it sits into the spring pan....it's about 3mm thick and about 5" long

    Ive had a quick feel but couldnt feel anything, will have another look tomorrow.

    They changed the drop links which i paid (labour free) for and suposedly the spring sleeves for free under warranty, but heard another knock today

    did they change the anti roll bar mount rubbers as well?....a common cause of knocks over speedbumps..

    No they didnt, the car was out of warranty in Nov but managed to get this done , it only made a knock when i had the wheel turned fully when coming onto my drive, its only done it once.

    right, that is classic 'spring mod' noise...perhaps they never put a smear of grease in the pans?..it helps the nylon 'mod' move better..

    yep, you could try shooting some spray grease into the bottom pan around the spring mod to lube it up a bit..

    Thanks will have a go tomorrow , will report back if i can find the sleeves, i presume i should be able to feel them .
