    Default Chipped 120 CDTi owners....

    Hi all

I'm pretty new to the Veccy forum, and I'd like to ask a favour:

Is there a meet near Leeds/Bradford held any time? I'd really like to chat to someone (and maybe be taken for a blast) with a 120 CDTi that's been chipped. Preferably a Siggy.

    cheers all

not from up there or going to be up there in the near future but my caterman boxed 120 vec is like this.....

much better power delivery, you can feel the torque pull you back when you boot it and the speed limit come's much much quicker.......

i got 167.5 bhp and 242 lb ft torque on an RR session last year.....

oh and by the way, it still get's about 600miles to the tank,

    Thumbs up

Thanks for that mate, very helpful. Power is like sound, in that it's a matter of opinion. "Does it sound nice?" Well, how do you answer that? On my Drive, there's a 911 C4S (not mine), and a VX220 (mine). In reality, the Porsche is much faster, but the VX is waaaay more fun, and actually 'feels' MUCH faster. We have an Audi TT too (225) and it's almost too good. Strange, I know, but it's so smooth it's boring!

Anyway, my Siggy is the workhorse and replaced my 150,000 mile VW Passat about two months ago. Despite the fact that the Passat was only a 100bhp model, and had a stack of miles, it felt like it produced more 'useful' power than the Siggy. Of course, with the Siggy the power is there, you just have to look a little harder for it.
I'd like a little more lower end grunt, as it can leave you with a red face if you aren't in just the right gear!

Also, I only just figured out that my car must look like an undercover Police unit. If I follow people (for example) up a sliproad and onto the motorway, and we're both tanking on a bit, they slow down all of a sudden and pull in! I passed a friend the other day who did the same until he realised it was me!

Anyway, thanks for the heads up on the chip. That's a very healthy increase indeed! I'm after better 'driveablility' rather than ut and out performance, and fuel economy must be largely unaffected.

    cheers mate

i am sure brocks has a re-map on his 120 vec and is getting about 170 bhp, just depend's on how much you want to spend.......

    re-map around £500.00

    caterman box around £50.00 - £70.00

other boxes around £250.00 to £450.00

    choices choices......

also get a K&N panel filter and do the air box mod... this helps too

    Dunno

I maybe the colour/privacy in back/they use lots of unmarked veccys where I live/it's a Design, so it looks a little more purposeful than other sigs (lower)/I dress in a Police uniform in my spare time (joke)/lack of dealer markings in window or on plates.

Couldn't figure it at first. It's certainly not done on purpose, but it would be really nice to think I could use the hard shoulder on the M62/M1 !!

Many years ago I had a 'Police' sign that clipped on your sunvisor that was liberated from an unmarked car. That was lots of fun! Don't think I'd risk it now though - I've grown up (A tiny bit) now!!
