    Default How the hell...!

How the hell do you get the CDR-2005 stereo out?

I've spend the last hour with the removal keys but this thing won't budge! Tight as anything and no matter how far I push the keys in this thing doesn't move a millimeter!

Am I missing something here? I've swapped out loads of stereos before and never had this bother before.

Pull the storage pocket out underneath the stereo, move the ashtray first and it'll come out.

Take the switch blanks out and slowly pry it out one side then another mm by mm. You can also get your hand behind the stereo and push it out.

Well, I've had to admit defeat for the night. Will try again tomorrow with daylight and a crowbar on my side.

I've done loads of these before and never had to fight to pull the stereo out when the keys where in place! I don't feel too confident its going to come out without a major struggle.

Sounds like its welded to the cage , i tried getting storey3000's out last year to put in his current car but it wouldnt budge , anymore force and i think it would have broke , there is a pipe that blows cold air onto the stereos amp im sure that causes some sort of corrosion between the frame and the radio chassis and makes then stick together

Definitely took the little screws out

Must be welded/jammed or something. As I said, done these before and they usually slide out nicely when the keys are in. Last one I did (Focus 2005) came out like it was greased with butter!

If its stuck I'm screwed - can't afford to pay someone to take the dashboard apart!
