    Default car ramps

    would it be safe to get under the car using car ramps my brother has some ramps and he says it would be safe.
    I was going to buy some axle stands,which is best to use

    i think either method is fine, only no no is using the jack to support the car whilst working under it.

    i prefer stands.. but ramps are okay if you can get on without ripping the bumper skirt off..

    just place a chock of some sort behind the rear wheel's, although my sxi had trouble driving up them as the lower splitter was going to hit it before the car wheel touched the bloooooody thing, just a warning there mate

    i see what u's means about the splitter catching on the ramp i shall have a look in shop and see the gradient of the ramps i can always test them,then take em back and get axles

    I cant get my standard SRi up ramps, fortunately my farther in law has his own pit garage. None SRi/GSi's might get up though.

    Another way of getting onto ramps if its low/splittered is to jack up the car as far as you can and place the ramp under the wheel. Lower the car off the jack and repeat on the other side. Drive the car up the last part.
    This is how i used to do my XR3 that was 3" off the floor!
    REMEMBER to reverse the process when you take the car off & not to back off when your done . CRUNCH !

    if you already have ramps and your front spiltter is to close for comfort then just get two bits of 4x2 and about a foot long.
    put the wood on the floor in front of the ramps and then drive up them it should be clear enough to do so
