Default Can anyone Recommend a 37" or 42" TV

Looking at replacing my 27" LCD Toshiba with something bigger! Decided 37" minimum. I've got BT Vision with HDMI, Xbox360 over component video, Wii over SCART. I'm gonna get BLU-RAY in the future so need another HDMI for that.
Budget is upto £800. Don't mind either LCD or Plasma.
    Suggestions and Recomendations please....

    Thanks

    Dennis

I've had a 37" Samsung HD LCD for about 5 months now and do nothing but rave about it to anyone that will listen. Its full of features and has 2 HDMI connections so fine for me. Gaming is unreal, you'll love it with the Xbox!!!! It looks stunning in Piano Gloss Black, I got mine with the black glass stand & DVD recorder for a bargain price of £600!! Tv's like most things are pretty much dependent on individual taste (or lack of it) but you wouldnt be dissapointed with the Samsung, just make sure you get an extended warranty with it, I've got 4 yrs with mine (another£100) but worth it for the piece of mind!!

    Size isnt everything!

You can have the best spec LCD or Plasma which will produce the best picture, but if you sit too close it will tend to look pixlie and bulky.

Im sure there is info out there which tells you the recommended size screen for the room you are putting it in.

So the size really depends on how far you will be sitting from it?

Oh and those that say HD ready may not be full HD. Go for one that produces full 1080p HD.

    I own a Toshiba 37X3030D series. I paid £600.00 from Dixons.co.uk with a few lucky promotional codes.

Its a great LCD, with good speakers, some flat screens have naf speakers. although i watch movies through my 5.1 surround sound, the wife hates 5.1 so the LCD speakers had to be good, coupled with a Toshiba SW1000 Sub it sounds great. The sub is designed to attach to the back of the LCD, but it will fit most other LCD's which have a sub output.

    Hope this helps.

if you are useing it for gaming and to watch blue ray films you will need a tv that has 1080p and the contrast has to be 15000-1. currys have a samsung in a 40" for £1000 and it very nice indeed
