    Default Nokia bluetooth car kits.

Anyone know where the bluetooth receiver actually is? Is it in the brain or is it in the remote button?

Shouldn't really matter. If it's any good it should work as long as the phone is in the car. My genuine Nokia kit keeps its connection 10 feet or so away from my van. I've also known someone who owned a Saab with factory fit bluetooth and his phone would connect to it although he was three floors up in his office. He was always missing calls.

So is it in the button or brain?

The reason why the question. I already have a fully installed carkit for my old company phone. Now it has gone, my other phone won't fit the cradle and instead of buying a new cradle, I was thinking about converting to bluetooth connection (forward compatibility to new phones ensured)

Hence the question if I need a new brain or just the button (if BT receiver is in that)

I fitted a Nokia CK7w blue tooth kit in mine.
I think you will find that the main box (brain) has everything in, the button only controls the volume & other options.
You should be able to use the same mic & speaker from the old kit, just need control box & button.

    Hope this helps
