Default The Official Coming Out Thread

Well as hinted/mentioned in a number of recent posts it would of become apparant to some our Vectra is no more in our possesion as of begining of December.
We'd decided it wasn't living up to the family car we'd hoped for and with the 2nd one only 9 months old we thought we may as well do it now and get the use out of an mpv with plenty of time for its purpose. I'm 6ft tall and we moved up from a Corsa as with our daughter in her car seat and me in the passenger seat my legs were squashed up against the glovebox only to find the Vectra isn't that much better. It was liveable with (for 20 months) but not great. If I was driving and our now 2nd daughter behind me I had the seat slid forward from my comfortable driving position to then find my legs were that close to the steering wheel I couldn't pass my hand entirely all the way round without having to take it off as my legs were in the way.

Without the kids in IT WAS A BLAST Especially after the software update I had done.
I've seen two around since that are the same in spec and my heart just sinks. It wasn't the most moddified, infact very little but I thought the colour & the styling was so subtle yet aggressive.

Anyway, time to move on....................................for now till the kids grow up so this is it.

Zafira B 1.9CDTI SRI, 2006 on 17k in Panacotta. Got to say it's the first time I've paid attention to this colour. The brochure did it no justice what so ever but the demonstrator we took out was an XP in this colour and I just wanted to take the keys to that there and then but they wanted close to £20k
So our friend at the dealership we was dealing with scouted round their chain and came up with a couple and we settled on this.
Extras it came with are heated seats , comfort pack on passenger seat, mp3 CD30 & headlight washers. Not quite sure where the headlight washers come into it as I thought they only came with the AFL's.

It's great to have the torquey pull of a TD and when it spools up in third it don't feel right with kids in the back (haven't touched the sport button yet).
Also good to have 4 x electric windows again and the rears actually disappear out of sight unlike half the glass staying up on the Vectra.

Downs I have on it at the moment is I suspect it's suffering from the DMF as you can feel & hear a knocking with light pressure applied to the clutch pedal. It has a creaky trim panel, bumper clip doesn't quite hold the bumper right o/s/f and true Vauxhall style the front bumper looks a different shade at various angles but it's such a pealescent colour you only have to move 6 inches and i's ok.

Anyway, as others who have jumped ship I'm not disappearing. It's the only forum I go on I can hit the "new post" button and only have 4, 5 or 6 pages tops to catch up on
Plus the crowd on here are great, do anything for anyone and are generally clued up and very helpfull.

Need to start the mods now

I had considered the A GSI and have it converted to LPG as some people on Astra Sport suggested but I found a while ago the B was more like driving a car as opposed to driving a van. I know the A isn't like driving a van but you get my drift.
Plus what on earth was someone thinking when they colour coded the electronic climate control panel on the A silver That topped it for me.
As for the colour it grows on me everyday and everytime I see anything in that colour I think it looks good, especially on Astra SRI XP's.

poss need's lowering and why not colour code the grille for a start..
would certainly like to get some 18" Pentas as fitted to the XP or something similar. We value our ride as we live in the country side so keeping stock suspension would be preferable. As for colour coded grill that is one on my list of things to do after mudflaps

Very nice (is that your scarf).
D'ya like the shade? Was thinking of this colour for colour coding interior such as air vents, door handles etc

    Looks a cracker Ben....

if you even half suspect DMF failure, get it looked at ASAP..you don't want to pay for one yourself.. ... so ask the dealer to take a look..

Still got manufacturer warranty plus took an extra year but am gonna be getting it looked at soon. Writting my list and gonna book it in
What else is being effected from a faulty DMF as in long term? If we're gonna keep it till kids permit I don't want any long term effects.

Also a bit miffed I had the salesman check with his service manager if the car had a DPF as I'd liked to of avoided them. He comes back says "no it hasn't got one, just an EGR valve" Really! No S@IT
Anyway took his word for it, sure enough it does have one
Just wish service departments would treat people with just the tinyest little bit of common sense as they don't know who they're talking to & it can be very offending
