    Default Windscreen wiper failure

My passenger side wiper has packed in completely, driver side works ok. The assemble is quite loose on that side and can be moved slightly by hand now.
Has this happened to anyone else? Never had this happen on a car before, makes me think that somebody has broken it intentionally.
If it has just failed, would it be covered under warranty? Anyone know roughly what it would cost to fix, otherwise?

it's dead common, the wiper linkage has failed.....

there's a 'how-2' in that section on how to change it, and the part should be no more than £55+vat.. if you don't have warranty as if you do it should be done FOC

    Thumbs up

Fixed by Vx, didn't cost me anything
Hopefully this one is a bit stronger than the last - with all this rain we're having it's certainly got its work cut out

if it's now got white balljoints rather than the brown one's..it's fitted with the new stronger wiper rack model..so it should last the life of the car..

    Default Wiper Fault

My wiper failed at 59,000, thought it was just a loose screw so didn't worry. Then at the service 61,000 they tell me it's going to cost £307.00 to replace the unit. What a rip off, tried to reason with GM but they only offered to pay 30% which works out at £50 approx (less vat first then 30% off and + vat again!!!) It is a known fault they have apparently but would not budge on the 30%. Mine is an 05 plate just gone over the 60k, I can't beleive they are so unreasonable, I had a Lexus before this and the service was fantastic, swappped a full set of alloys out of Manufacturers warranty without blinking an eye. I will never buy Vauxhall again now just out of principle. Their loss of a good customer.
Any advice on how to swap this part would be appreciated.

thats the how-2...if it's the linkage thats broken then it's only around £50+V..if it's the motor at fault then the parts come to £130+V...either way, very DIY freindly and should take around 1.5 hrs for your first try at it..

just make sure the ebay linkages are the revised design with the white balljoints..they are better sealed against the lubrication washing out..
