    Default Fixing Tailgate Rattle

There is a lot of people suffering from this problem, and i think i've finally found the solution.

one solution for some has been to adjust the tailgate catch, however this has'nt worked for every one, me included.

I found that when i closed the boot, the rattle i hear whilst driving.. was replicated. after a quick look around the boot i spotted the problem.

the carpet lining on the inside of the hatch, is quite stiff, and runs very close to the rear window, over the edge of the carpet there is a small rubber "buffer" to stop the carpet hitting the window...but i found, this rubber thing is making things alot worse!

solution: pull the damn thing off!
effect: NO MORE RATTLE!!! & big silly grin.

obviously this rubber thing is there to stop the rattling, but it makes it worse as it makes the clearence between the window and the carpet smaller.

if you go over some big bumps it could still have a chance of rattling, so the rubber buffer thats removed could idealy do with being replaced with one of a tighter fit.

    hope this helps.

i've attached some pics, before and after.

Also, if any of you have the Vx warning triangle, they rattle as well, I've padded mine and cured my rattle.
