    Default Anyone tried Hungarian dentistry?

I've been to the dentist's this morning, since one of my teeth broke off. He managed to cement it back, but there's so little of the tooth left that, when it goes again, I'll need a 3 tooth bridge or an implant, priced at around £750 or £2300.
I see that Hungarian dentistry is a darn site cheaper. Anyone given it a try? Is it worth the cost of flights to Budapest?

There's a strip club just off a side road off The Oktagon in Budapest - we ran up a £300 bill in there once, but had only £100 to pay them with......I think the bouncers may have practised some "Hungarien Dentistry" on us had we not been saved by a nice guy with a credit card!

I've been looking into this also, I got two out already and a third on the way, I see it as a rotten tooth is just that so it has to go, but £2000 for a screw in is obscene, when is some sort of regulator going to come in and set realistic prices for dentistry in this country, I can't find an NHS one, but I bet Yorick off of this mornings ferry has got one already.

Imagine what a dentist would say to me if I asked for £400 for a £10 ride, which is effectively what they do to us, £80 for a filling, I know there are costs etc, but it's half an hours work, even at £30 you could say it would be expensive.

If their work is a s good and as cheap as it is in Latvia, then I would say yes. When I took my wife to my dentist he was amazed at the standard of dental work, he said it was done to a very high standard, and was most supprised when she said it was all done in Latvia.

Hmmmmmm. Worth thinking about, then. My only concern is that I've got some Hungarian friends and they all drink so much that I'd be scared that the Dentist might have the shakes.
And the language is just weird!

I was in Greece a couple of years back and broke a filling. (Hard bread) Eventually I found a Dentist and went to see her. She said could not do it right away, could I go for a coffee and come back in 30mins.

I went back and she fixed it and charged me 10euro. I asked if that was just a temp one and no in wasn't, colour matched etc, it has been fine.

Mind you when I went to see her she did not have a pile of receptionist all discussing Corry/ Eastthing etc nor someone to hold a suction tube in my mouth, had to do that myself.

How I missed all the piped music and magazines. The constant chat from the desk.

Thats what makes it worth so much more here.

I've just had 2 x front crowns done at 400 quid each, but those nice people at HSA gave me most of that back, and last week I've just had a another visit for a clean & polish and they paid for that to,

Shame they don't pay for the car park, I think that cost me more
