    Angry Handbrake Claims Another Victim

Handbrake has failed on our 55 plate Vectra C this morning whilst the missus was parked outside her mums. Rolled down the hill and into a telegraph pole. Then to top it all she reveresed into a car as she moved it back!

Damage isn't major but it's gonna be an insurance job. Any chance Vauxhall will pay for it?

unlucky, vauxhall should pay for it imo, but i bet they wont! you could till try though. The front end damage doesnt look too bad at all, the wing has kept its shape, the headlight is fine and the bumper looks okay too. That may well pull out and with a little filler look as good as new. I know a very good body shop in York who repaired mine on the rear wing with a dent like that for £250. I could pm you details if you like?

Bonnet is out of alignment though.
I would write to VX myself and see what happens.

Bonnet and wing have been misplaced. Bumper is scored. I'm not impressed! I would write to Vauxhall but I don't think I'd get any further than the hundreds of others who have already tried. They say there's no problem when there is so the little guy loses again! Missus is on the phone to Elephant as we speak. Fortunately the no claims is protected, although heavens knows how she managed to get to 5 years! Oh that's right, she normally crashes my cars! lol

What happened to the Watchdog story it seems to have gone cold, you might as well email them to add to the pile they have, not sure if it will do anything tho.

Can't see you getting anywhere with VX as they won't admit there is a fault, but I'd write in anyway, just so they know the problem's not going to go away on its own.

if its a fault claim then despite your protected no claims you should expect a nice increase next year, sorry. Looking at the pic though at the most it needs a new wing, the bonnet looks straight to me, just shoved over a bit, so probably just needs adjusting back. the bumper is an easy fix too. A decent body shop should do that lot for under £500. Whats the damage to the rear like?

Just a little scuff at the rear and no damage to the other car! God bless reformable bumpers! Should polish out tbh.

Have spoken to Elephant and they already have something in place for claiming back of VX for claims through this! We have to pay the excess but they said we'd get it back once they've claimed.

Got all the addresses for Watchdog and GM so will send them some emails! Might see if I can find one for the Director!

I wouldn't be surprised if VX just refer you to the visor sticker which tells you to leave it in gear
