    Default Still they Don't Learn

Mother's and young exec types at 8.30am and 3pm, schools in and schools out, and still they persist in maxing second gear out as they get to deliver their own treasured kid, gotta slow it right down to almost walking pace, a kid will appear from absolutely nowhere, and you have no chance of missing it when it happens.

Tonight's examples of how not to drive near a school are, one of those mothers that wants to be Jordan but never will be, in her small car, on the way in I watched her bash a parked car, and on the way out it was aggressive backwards and forwards before roaring off down the road, then as I get nearer home, up a service road comes a 4X4 and he ain't slowin up either, I saw a young kid running along the pavement and was able to gesture him in time to prevent him knocking her down, tbf to him he did give me a sheepish thankyou afterwards.

So, I guess what I'm saying is you can kill one of two things, your speed, or someone else's kid.

    Whats it to be?

I know what you mean mate, the other side of things is, those kids (especially the ones near my road! don't give a damn and just run out in groups of 10!! And then take pleasure in the fact they are holding the whole street up, cos they don't know the highway code.

I agree with both of you - IMO roads past schools should be limited to 20mph or less and aggressively policed, but equally, the brain-dead youths who think its either funny or cool to jaywalk deserve to be hit by one of the 4x4 mums...preferably their own....

I know where you mean, it's the old wash house and around it by the roundabout, not all bad ppl there, but quite a few non working freeloaders are housed there also, notice how all the "worst" areas now have 20 mph illuminated signs on them.

You can teach them till the cows come home but peer pressure will negate it, it's now considered cool to jaywalk and soon we will end up with the same as the yanks, and all because of the plain arrogant and stupid.

I could offer some education, but the Libs won't like it, it might be too traumatic for modern day Britainer, and the simple road safety campaign is to go into schools armed with a donated limb from a dead person and snap it in half in front of them.
