    Default Third Party Warranty

My car is now over 3 years old and the milage has just slipped over 60,000. I'm looking to purchase a third party warranty, one i can pay for in monthly instalments. I would prefer a company with a good reputation ( if there is such a company )

    any recommendations folks ?

Personally, I don't think the average person gets value for money with 3rd party warranties. Unless your car is doomed, all the surveys etc find them to be more expensive than paying out for the few repairs necessary over time.

From above, £270 per year pays for a lot of repairs, and seems very expensive to me. Modern cars are tested to death for reliability and are far, far better than older models.

Check carefully what is included and excluded in the policy. Choice is yours obviously, but that's my 2 pence worth.

I have been looking into this as mine will hit 60,000 by the end of Feb. I have come to the conclusion that unless you can sweet talk your dealer into putting a network Q warranty on the car, I would not bother.

By rights a dealer should not put on a network Q unless they have sold you the car, but it has been known to be done.

It does seem that the best independant out there at present is http://www.warrantiesonline.co.uk/ Many I know have had little bother when when it comes to making a claim using this company.

I would not touch warranty direct with a bargepole, they come up with every excuse in the book to avoid paying out. Very poor

    cheers guys,

The only reason I'm considering a warranty is because I've had to pay £230 just last months to get a heater matrix replaced. the car has a history of problems and I cant afford to change it, ( Stuck in negative equity )

already the suspension has started to get a bit noisy so I dont want to risk anything

Spent £230 odd for a heater matrix,
    and £220 for wheel bearing,

both items that my dealer would have repaired under their warranty,

I'm getting a warranty, this is taking the biscuit, every 2nd month something is going wrong with the car, and its a shame cos I love the car.
