    Default Donny Show? opinions

    www.donnyshow.co.uk

    For years i arranged a vauxhall club stand at this show when it was held at Doncaster Racecourse, but in recent years a new PR company took over the running of the show and became a lot more strict with club entries. A lot of clubs were turned away due to space requirements etc. Its also a very 'max power' type show so lots of half naked girls and pumping stereo's but not much opportunity to relax and chill out like you can at say, Billing.

    The show has now moved for nextyear to Donnington Race circuit and is basically a 'Trax' of the North/Midlands.

    Would people be interested in having a club stand? Its a two day show and there is camping but from expereince, if you want a goods nights kip, i wouldnt bother.

    There are a number of concerns before i make contact with them though;

    1) They used to be quite strict on only allowing quite heavily modded cars. With the exception of a few, most of ours i wouldnt clas as heavily modified, but more 'tastefully' modified.

    2) The camping is a complete nightmare (when youre an old g!t like me) so i wouldnt recommend it, but rather we all book into the same travelinn and have a few pints/proper grub

    3) They used to require clubs to show for BOTH days. If you couldnt commit, you were put to the back of the queue.

    4) Its only 3 weeks before our planned trip to Belguim (which some members may be saving up for etc)

    If you still think it would be a good show to display at, stick your opinions down here and i'll see what they say

    I went to Donny South (the son of Donny) at North Weald 2 years ago, and there was far to much flesh on show - Not my cup of tea at all and have vowed not to go back. I can just about cope with Trax.

    It's a bit too much Lax Power for me, but each to there own.
    The whole area around this show tends to get over run, and any form of travel in the area around it is a nightmare.
    I could be persuaded if enough peeps are interested though.

    I didnt think it would everyone thing hence the reason for asking opinions here. Unless theres a group specifically want a display stand i'll wont bother arranging space for us

    donny show was really good quite a few years back, good start to the show season. but now its got far too much max p and you cant have decent cup of tea without your whole body shaking to THUMP THUMP THUMP of the ice cars! Also traffic would be awful so staying at a travel in would be near impossible!!
