OK so not a new car for me...
But have done a deal on behalf of my sister in law.
She presently has a hateful, hideous, nasty, Fiat Punto on an 'R' plate, 96'000miles and it is a complete shed.
She has been looking for a new car for a while but being a girl she has found that she walks into a dealers and gets the p*ss taken out of her.
So she asked if I could find her a deal. Great I thought, get to spend someone elses money....!
Her budget was a max of £150 a month, and only her car as deposit!
She wanted a small engine like a1.0L. She lives on the Isle of Wight so speed isnt really an issue but MPG and Tax costs are.
Had a choice of three cars, a New Grande Punto, Seat Ibiza or Vauxhall Corsa
She really wanted the Corsa but thought she couldn't afford it.
Got a reasonable deal at Fiat but the basic spec Grande Punto is really basic. Seat were rubbish basically unwilling to deal, and their best deal against a new Ibiza was £550 for her car and thats it...totally unwilling to budge on the list price of the Ibiza....which I think is pretty poor.
Then came the Vauxhall dealers... Totally willing to negotiate and very keen to get the deal done.
So done her a deal on a new 1.0 Corsa Breeze Plus.
Really nice spec....here

I got £1000 scrap allowance for her Punto, basically Vauxhall scrap the car and the she gets £1000!!
Also got a £1500 contribution from Vauxhall towards her finance.
So no deposit needed other than her Part ex, job done.
The car's ordered and she will have delivery at the end of February.
It's going to cost her £148 a month over 48 months, which is how long she will keep the car.
I thought that was a good price for what is in effect a straight loan.
I was pretty happy with myself and she is over the moon.
Thought about getting one for my wife!!
