Default Electrical Hydraulic Steering Light Problem

    Hi Guys,
Just the morning while driving my better half noticed a warning light on my 2002 2.2 dti sxi. When i consulted the manual it matched the Electrical Hydraulic Steering problem icon. The display showed a steering wheel with a ! on the right side. I thought elec hyd what, I thought I'm in big diffs here. So I went on the site and got some info from you guys to check the fluid level in the reservoir. Did that this afternoon, fluid level OK. Now it looks like I'm gonna have to take her to a dignositic guy to find this problem. Wadda you think or should I try something else first.

    Cheers Guys

You need to get a dealer to read diagnostic trouble codes with a Tech 2

    or similar system yes...

The car will give different fault codes depending on what system is going wrong..and 99% of fault code readers on the 'budget' market for home use will only read engine system fault codes, which only account for about 8% of the codes a car can generate...

So, unless you have access to a 'PRO' system that will read codes generated by the body control module, it's dealer time..
