    Default Painted Calipers Advice Needed!!

Evening people, wanted your advice on painting my calipers. I have a dark blue Veccy (sorry cant remember the name!!) and would like to know:

    A) what colour you think would suit the car best
    B) what, if any, decals I should fit & colour
C)do you need to strip the caliper first?
    D) where did you all get your paint from?

    cheers fellas

for a blue car red would probably stand out most, you would be safer getting high temperature paint as it will last longer for a good finish your probably better to strip down the calliper although you can just brush the paint when they not stripped you can buy the high temp paint from halfords or most motor factors for bout a tenner

    a) totally your choice

    b) I chose "opel" as it was smaller. Try "udernine" on e-bay for both opel and vauxhall in a variety of colours.

    c) no, just clean with a wire brush and a clean paint brush. Some have used a brake cleaner, I didn't.

    d) You can buy a specialist paint but you can use hammerite in your chosen colour

Will that last as long as the specialist high temp paints? Guess its easy enough to repaint if it didnt turn out how I want it?

A - Up to you really, but I did mine in blue on my Ultra Blue car (which is what yours sounds like)......

B - Up to you really.
C - No, no need to strip. As above, just a wire brush. I did use brake cleaner that came in the kit I bought.
D - Foliatec kit from Halfords. Comes with paint, hardener and can of brake cleaner.

Just bought my 2nd set off this seller (Uber9 user name cost about £7.50) ready for the new car. They are 1st class quality and don't come off !Clean with a brake cleaner for better finish and durability.

Hammerite can blister if you ain't careful. Halfords do some for about a tenner, but i always use the Foliatec. Costs more but it gives the best results.
